Megger 569001-8: Ultrasonic Leak/Corona Detector

The Megger 569001-8 contact probe locates ultrasonic frequencies on solid surfaces in electrical testing, automotive, power utility, and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) applications. The contact probe attaches to the Megger 569001-KIT ultrasonic leak and corona detector (not included) and is held against a surface like a stethoscope to detect ultrasonic emissions from sources such as faulty steam traps, worn bearings, and worn gears. The probe responds to frequencies in the 40 kilohertz range. It has an overall length of 10.0 inches (254 mm) and an overall diameter of 1.75 (44 mm). The probe’s stem measures 6 inches (152 mm) long and the probe’s diameter is 0.125 inches (3.2 mm).
